The church in Cameroon is led by prophet and preacher Njomke Divine and calls itself God's Favour Ministry International (GFMI) – not to be confused with GFMIP, which is the partnership of GFMI. GFMI consists of 3 church plantings.
GFMI's vision is to see that those of God's people who are under demonic influence are set free through teaching, preaching and prayer. Furthermore, to see that those who have a calling from God are trained and ordained for effective ministry.
GFMI ‘s mission statement is to “set the captives free” (Es. 61,1-3). This happens by converting souls from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. To comfort the broken, heal the sick and raise the dead through teaching, preaching and prayer. Furthermore, through planting churches around the world, training pastors for the gospel and ordaining them into their office of calling for effective ministry.
Already at this time, several people associated with the partnership are being trained by Njomke Divine to be ordained for service in GFMI, which in the long term also plans church planting in Denmark.
A little about Cameroon
Cameroon is located in the western part of Central Africa and has a coastline. The country is a former European colony and consists of ten regions, eight French-speaking and two English-speaking. There are a handful of the major world church denominations represented in the country, such as the Catholic Church, the Presbyterian Church and the Pentecostal Church. In addition, there are a lot of smaller local churches of a charismatic orientation, Islam is represented, and there is a widespread practice of traditional religion.
In 2017, an armed conflict (civil war) broke out between the separatists (who want the two English-speaking regions to secede from the rest of Cameroon) and the country's military.
The Partnership is an NGO and we are therefore completely neutral in relation to the aforementioned conflict. We would simply like to emphasize that the armed conflict makes an already poor and difficult life even more difficult for the civilian population.
